Below is a series of photos as I took the thing around my workplace, The Computer History Museum! Included are several pictures in front of the Apollo Guidance Computer - the only computer that has been both on the Moon and in my car!
You may never have heard of the Alfie, in fact, this is only the second time they've been given out. George R. R. Martin, who wrote some books about dragons, devised them as a way to sort of make it up to people who were shut out of Hugo Award nominations by a certain pack of villainous curs acting as a bloc to deny great work. Journey Planet, the fanzine a whole bunch of editors pull together a few times a year, won the Hugo last year, and this year was shut out. George saw fit to award us an Alfie (named after the legendary Alfred Bester!) which arrived to me today! Below is a series of photos as I took the thing around my workplace, The Computer History Museum! Included are several pictures in front of the Apollo Guidance Computer - the only computer that has been both on the Moon and in my car!
