t had been at least 20 years since I last watched Special Delivery, and I just happened across it this morning. It's such a fun short, and for me, it was a gateway to Bill Plympton. It's a simple story - Ralph forgot to clean the porch, a mailman slips, and hilarious complications ensue!
It's a hilarious piece of black comedy that uses the narrator voice to tell the story while the characters underneath still talk. It's characters are comically-drawn, and the influence of Windsor McCay's style is obvious in the design. It's another great, massively successful short from from the NFB Canada!
