Ben McDowell has an eye. It's pretty easy to see that less than ten seconds into the meat of Monterey Bay, a three minute documentary that just can not be beat when it comes to scenery. It's beautiful, it's brief, it's almost completely without commentary on the Bay itself (the northern section of which is just 15 minutes from my place!) but that does nothing to hold this fine film down. It's not merely a series of gorgeous shots, it's a well-constructed series of gorgeous shots of tide pools, waves crashing, and animals. Watch it!
