New York's Museum of Modern Art (where I had my wedding!) is the greatest repository for Modern art in the world, and also one of the best sites for Film Preservation. I found this wonderful YouTube doc that looks at the storage and research facility.
As a museum guy, I can say this is top-notch. The compactor shelving, the rotating script storage unit, one of, if not THE, best cliimate-control I've ever seen!
Film Preservation is an important part of the story of film, and there's a lot of story behind it. From the re-discovery of the Paper Print collection at the LOC to the ways in which Lost Film Hunters have discovered films in the weirdest of places. This is the nuts and bolts of what those efforts lead to.
